How to Paint Your Home With a Tucson Painter (Contd.)

Do you think you know how to paint your home yourself? Think again.

Hire a Painter in Tucson and Stay Safe

Hire a Local Painter to Paint High Places
As we covered previously, there are even more steps when you're trying to paint your home yourself. Even more reason to hire a painter in Tucson.
From This Old House:
"Scraping paint by hand is a grueling task because you've got to attack it from every direction. But compared to power grinders and sanders, it's the least damaging way to remove the old layers. You can speed up the process by using a heating gun to soften the paint (as shown).
Safety First: Use a respirator when scraping paint by hand. Also, make sure you protect the surrounding work area—including any plants and shrubs—with a tarp covering.
With loose paint removed, it's time to step back and assess what remains. If most of the paint still adheres well and it's not too bumpy, the boundary between the paint and the bare wood can be smoothed with 50- or 80-grit sandpaper.
Small random-orbit or pad sanders make this job go faster. (Wallis first covers these boundaries with Synkoloid patching compound so no edge is visible after sanding.) As shown, you want to make sure that there is a feathered, smooth transition from exposed wood to old paint. For areas that might get close scrutiny, you can follow up with a 100- or 120-grit rubdown to erase any scratches.
If less than half the old paint is left, however, it may be worth stripping it all off. Guertin gets rid of stubborn remnants using shrouded grinders (like the PaintShaver), infrared paint strippers (such as the Speedheater), or chemical strippers (like Multi-Strip), then smooths the wood with a course or two of sanding. When siding (or bank accounts) can't take the shock of a total strip job, Rich O'Neil, of Masterwork Painting in Bedford, Massachusetts, has successfully hidden rough, well-adhered paint under Peel Bond, a thick primer." Painting your home on your own isn't as easy as you might think, you're better off hiring a Tucson area painter.  Many people think that painting is a cheap and easy task that can easily be accomplished with only a can of paint and some brushes acquired from the local hardware or home improvement store. Contrary to this however, painting a house is no easy task and it often requires a lot more than a trip to the local hardware or paint store especially if a beautiful and quality paint job is desired.
So whether you want to paint your new house or you just need to refurbish an old home, below are some of the reasons why you should always insist on hiring the services of a professional painter.

Benefits of Hiring a Professional Painter in Tucson

It is Time-Saving
Painting a house can be very time consuming and can take an inexperienced person even up to several months to complete. Hiring a professional can save you a lot of time because they can be able to finish the painting job within a specified period of time or deadline.
Although the work may take more time if a lot of repairs are needed before the painting job, most professionals will give you a definite date that they would expect to have finished the job. This way, you have more certainty about when you can move into your new home or when you can expect your home to get back to normal.
Quality
Getting a professional painter to paint either the interior, exterior or your whole house can significantly add value to your house and increases its resale value. Only a professional painter can give a quality paint job.
Insurance
Hiring a Tucson painter to do painting jobs or doing the painting on your own is often dangerous and can cost you a lot of money. For instance, if you hire a painter in Tucson to do a painting job for you and he or she gets injured or damages your property while on the job, you will have no protection.
